March 23, 2010

It has been a long hiatus but we are kicking the Cohort back into gear! Beginning in April, we will meet on the third Saturday of each month at 1:00 pm at the Ginger Man on Camp Bowie in Fort Worth.

To get us back into the regular discipline of meeting and conversation, we will be reading Danielle Shroyer’s The Boundary-Breaking God: An Unfolding Story of Hope and Promise together and spend a great deal of our time discussing what it reveals. Please show up on April 17, 2010 having read the first chapter. The rest of our time will be spent in conversation and discussion regarding thoughts, questions, concerns, and dilemmas we are facing in our current contexts.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. If not, see you all on April 17, 2010.

We are going to host our next cohort gathering on Saturday, May 17th at the Ginger Man Pub in Fort Worth. The Ginger Man is located at 3716 Camp Bowie Boulevard. We will be gathering at 1:00 p.m., so you can eat there or come well fed already. We are going to continue to use this time to get to know each other (many of you will be first-timers) and discuss how to best move our communal learning forward as friends.

We decided to try a weekend gathering during the day again. However, we know that this might not work for everyone either. So, we would like to know when would be a good time for you to meet so we can create appropriate spaces for our conversations. It would be great if you would use the comments section of this post to tell us when would be good for you to meet (i.e. weeknights after 8pm except Thursdays). I think you folks get the idea.

Have a great week, and we hope to see you at The Ginger Man on May 17th.

Phil

Hello friends!

For those of you who I met at the Everything Must Change Tour with Brian McLaren, I apologize on the lateness of this post. I had hoped to post more expeditiously but life happens – I’m sure it happens to you too.

After meeting many of you for the first time and discussing it with Phil, we have decided to try an experiment of sorts. We are going to host our next cohort gathering on Saturday, March 22 at the Ginger Man Pub in Fort Worth. The Ginger Man is located at 3716 Camp Bowie Boulevard. We will be meeting at 1:00 p.m., so you can eat there or come well fed already. We are hoping to use this time to get to know each other (many of you will be first-timers) and discuss how to best move our communal learning forward as friends

We decided to try a weekend meeting during the day because several people mentioned that weekday evenings couldn’t work for them. However, we know that this might not work for everyone either. March 22 is Holy Saturday and we recognize that as a part of the holiday weekend, it might be less than convenient for some to meet then, or Saturdays might be bad for you. As such, we would like to know when would be a good time for you to meet so we can create appropriate spaces for our conversations. It would be great if you would use the comments section of this post to tell us when would be good for you to meet (i.e. weeknights after 8pm except Thursdays). I think you folks get the idea.

Have a great couple of weeks, and we hope to see you at The Ginger Man on March 22.

Shane
